Potential Triggers

What is fine for one person is not okay for another.

These are possible triggers for people.

The world-building is based on fact, and often, the truth is horrible. There are depictions of animals in trouble, sometimes because of humans, but also Nature herself can be brutal.

Romance: There is talk and innuendo because my mermaids recharge their magic through intimacy, but there is no graphic or “open-door” description. It’s more the longing and wanting and ache of desire.

Violence: It’s not wildly depictive, but it’s there.

Kidnapping, gaslighting, patriarchy, death of a parent, torture (she’s bled against her will).

Religion: There are goddesses and gods. Some are made up and some are based on current belief systems. I mean no disrespect to any culture or belief. If anything, I’m positively enamored and want to share what I’ve learned.

Culture: I poke fun at times, making my Scotsman a whisky-swiller who swears all the time, or my Brits are terribly ‘correct’, but wonderful all the same. It’s not meant to be a blanket statement or a representation of ALL Scots or Brits, so please don’t take it like that.

Age? I would say 15 years and up. But it depends on the person and their maturity.
