Why Eco-fantasy?

I’m a science nerd and love riddling my friends with bizarre facts about the natural world, but no one wanted to talk about the environmental challenges we face.

Fair.

It’s bleak.

Now, I’ve been a fantasy reader since I was a little girl.

So I got to thinking.

What if there were magical people living alongside us? What if they were fighting a battle to save the planet from rogue villains?

I fell in love.

I thoroughly research to ensure the science is accurate at the time of writing. Then I throw my crazy mixed-bag of magical characters into the middle of it, making them navigate certain perils.

I get emails from readers who say, “You know, I fact-checked you on xyz. It’s all true!”
